About the Show

It's no 'Secret' how glorious this "Garden" is.

Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon's THE SECRET GARDEN

is widely renowned as one of the great page to stage musicals

of the last century. The winner of three 1991 Tony Awards, the classic tale of young Mary Lennox's journey continues to be a perfect fit for for local theater productions.

Based on the 1911 novel of the same name by Frances Hodgson Burnett, THE SECRET GARDEN follows Mary as she survives a deadly plague in India that kills her parents and forces her to live with her grief stricken Uncle Archibald in England. As both Mary and Archibald struggle to be a new family, they eventually find the light and the "bit of earth" they've been missing in the garden and each other. Right in line with Rodgers and Hammerstein and Stephen Sondheim, Ms. Norman and Ms. Simon seem to have effortlessly joined forces to bring the novel to life with a touching mix of loss, humor, and heart.

With a sweeping score and a thrilling story, THE SECRET GARDEN is a masterpiece that families and musical lovers will be able to cherish long after they leave the theater.
